I went to Baguio together with some Cebu and Manila based bloggers for the BX3 Tour “Bloggers Baguio Benguet Appreciation Tour” to witness Baguio’s Panagbenga Festival 2013 and to visit the many attractions of the city of Pines.
We stayed at Azalea Residences Baguio, a hotel at the center of Baguio City located at Leonard Wood Road, Baguio City. The hotel is a 5 minutes’ walk from Northern Gate of Teacher’s Village ( it’s just across it), 10-15 minutes drive (including traffic) from session road, SM Baguio and Burnham Park.
What I Love About Azalea Residences?
The Place
The facade of the hotel is no ordinary hotel it is not that big aircon triangular like hotel. The facade is so home looking. First view at it and you will feel as if you will not be staying in a hotel, instead you will be living in a vacation house. The interior is simple yet elegant. Upper left side facing the reception area is a beautiful leaf-like wall decor. Same position you will see the lounge in the left and the door to the dining area on the right.
The People
As we reached Azalea we are greeted warmly by the bellboy and offered to bring our baggage’s. The security also says hi with a smile in that 2:00am. The receptionist is cheerful in accommodating and he even shared jokes with us. The attendant was nice in assisting us in our room and even helped us arranged the sofa bed.
Amenities
We stayed in a 2 bedroom room with 1 masters bedroom, 1 single bedroom, a sala and a kitchen. The 2 rooms and the sala has flat screened TV. There are 2 spacious bathrooms with hot and cold shower. The kitchen is equip with a refrigerator, microwave oven, stove and some kitchen utensils. The dining area is huge and there lounge is very cozy. There’s no air-conditioned but all over the hotel is cold, good thing there’s a warm shower to ease the coldness when bathing.
Service
Service is excellent. Every day we always came home to Azalea with a clean room. New towels, pillow case and blanket and tidy clean bed sheets. The waiters in the dining are very tactful, kind and ready to lend a hand. Even though the hotel has a buffet breakfast there are waiters ready to serve you what you need, like example I always ask them to get a fried egg for me instead of me getting it, hehehehehe. They are also alert because before you start eating they will ask you of what drinks would you like to have.
Food
Every morning we are served with delicious foods. As you know I’m a breakfast person so I eat a lot during breakfast. Let the photos tell its story.
Some of the things in my own Opinion Azalea can improve on:
1. Internet connection is really slow, well this is really important to people like me whose work depends to be mostly online but well people go to Baguio to relax and not to be online all the time but a decent Internet connection is a plus for me and for sure all tourist would want to upload their photos after touring around the city.
2. The sofa bed in the room. At first I was a bit anxious to try it because it looks like it will fall down if I lye in it but then it was okay, but it was too difficult to set up and we need to call a hotel attendant to help us out and we have to leave it as is the whole day, meaning the sofa bed occupies the whole sala. It would be much better if the sofa bed is like the usual sofa bed we have at home were in we can easily turn it over as bed at night and sofa during the day.
3. Too few tv channels to choose from. Yes people don’t travel to just stay in their hotel rooms but there are people who actually do. These people just want to visit other places not to tour around but just to feel that there on a different place and be happy staying in the convenience of there hotel room with the TV on. Believe me this is true because babe and I belongs to this few people.
