The Sinulog Festival in Cebu is coming. You must first secure your hotel or homestay reservations because establishments are typically fully booked during this popular traditional celebration.
Where are the best areas to stay in Cebu City?
Sinulog is celebrated in Cebu City, thus it is ideal to book a place where the huge observance is celebrated.
The “best” area to stay in Cebu for Sinulog will depend on what you want to experience in the city. To help you identify the ideal areas that best suit your traveling style during Sinulog 2023, below are some guidelines.
Cebu City, despite being a metropolis, prides itself on breathtaking trails that will make you wonder if you are still in the same city.
The Budlaan to Sirao Peak trail is one of the most beautiful trails I’ve seen in Cebu City. It includes a river trek, an assault hike, several waterfalls along the way, a panoramic view of the Butuanon River, and a scenic meadow of Mt. Kan Irag.
Did I also mention that this is a beginner-friendly Cebu trail? – Yes, I’ll say it again: the Budlaan to Mt. Kan-Irag trail is a beginner-friendly trail, or, to put it another way, a trail for beginning hikers in Cebu.
Climbing Mt. Apo is one of the many dreams for most hikers and mountaineers here in the Philippines. And there is no better way to make the most of the experience than sharing it with like-minded people we call friends.
In this article, I am sharing with you tidbits of advice from my fellow adventure seekers. The people with whom I shared sweat and mud during the 3-Day Mt. Apo traverse and the last few months’ weekly buddies for Mt. Apo training and preparation.
TLDR 1. Have proper training. 2. Prep gears for cold and wet weather. 3. Prioritize SAFETY.
I have been hiking for 5 years now (started in 2017) and like any other trail seeker, I dream of climbing the grandfather and highest mountain in the Philippines but never did I thought that it would be this early in my hiking journey.
Around March this year (2022) when fellow adventure enthusiast and friend Aldrich – The Bisaya Traveler invited my husband and me to join his group to climb Mt. Apo, we immediately said yes. First, because we still have time to prepare and second, I consider it as a new chapter of my hiking journey.
From the Deepest Sea to the Highest Peak. My dear hometown, Jagna in Bohol has recently been buzzing in Bohol’s tourism arena. We have a shipwreck and biodiversity-rich ocean which is perfect for diving – it may be snorkeling, deep sea diving, or free diving.
We have Bohol hiking trails that are famous and are yet to be discovered. From Mt. Matunog in Mayana which is the highest peak in Bohol that is just right for day hiking or camping in Bohol. Now, we also discovered a delightful trail, ideal for a solid six to seven-hour day hike for long trail hiking enthusiasts like yours truly.
Living in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental for almost a month makes us want to explore those beautiful mountains that we often saw from Center Mall where babe and I go for a jog. And it’s also the time for our monthly trek so we messaged our #dayhike buddies and invited them to come over to San Carlos City. Short research would easily point us to Mayana Peak, a famous #daytrek destination in San Carlos City so we set the date.
Others rather prefer the northern part of Cebu in Bantayan or Camotes for the breathtaking long stretch white sand beaches and of course thresher shark diving in Malapascua. But Cebu is not just the south and the north, there is also the western part that is yet to be explored. Today, let me guide you to the beauty of northwest Cebu.
The sleeping town of Tabuelan has risen after the Maravilla Beach Resort has gone famous because of its long stretch beautiful white sand beach and crystal blue seawater. Before, Maravilla Beach is best known for its set-up tent and even referred to as the new beach tent city of Cebu next to Moalboal. It is still true today but the resort options have improved to cater to visitors like families who preferred a more comfortable stay.
