Our route for this trip was Ilocos Norte – Ilocos Sur – Mt. Province (via Tagudin – Cervantes Road) – Ifugao Province to Benguet Province. Let me share to you how babe and I did it. A little note: While traveling babe and I is also working so we have time allotted for work and all expenses are good for 2 persons. Expenses are excluding of airfare but include souvenirs.
I am one blessed person able to have a chance going on a 5 day land trip Manila to Cebu. Part of the itinerary is visiting an island in Northern Samar that is new to me, wait I only knew few major islands in the country how much more little islands in each region. Well this is the reason why I love to travel to at least be geographically nourished of my dear Philippines, mind you my geography is not as healthy as my body looks.
Traveling is one exciting activity I love to do. I love to travel to see places, learn a new culture, and meet new people. I promise to myself to savor the beauty of the Philippines and share it with you guys. Here is a complete guide of my ever first land trip in the Philippines including several side trips along the way and of course all in different posts each.
What is land trip?
A land trip is traveling through any land transportation. In the case of our country, the Philippines that consists of various islands, riding a boat is considered a part of a long land trip.
To start off this article let me share to you the town where I came from. I am a native of Bohol particularly in the town of Jagna found in the East side of Bohol and an hour drive from the City of Tagbilaran. Like any other towns in the province, people basic means of living are farming and fishing. There are also few who made the very delicious and famous calamay in which many say is the most delicious among other makers in the province. Young Jagnaanon professionals are scattered not just in the country but all over the globe aiming to alleviate the status of their family.
It was one lazy Saturday afternoon and I was texting with my cousin Maitha about a summer getaway we are planning for the family. I mentioned her some tentative dates which are April 27 or 28 2013 but then she refuses for the reason that she has plans for the said date together with an aunt on her dad’s side. I’m a cousin to her mom’s side. They will be watching a Dragon Boat contest somewhere in Tagbilaran and I was like, okay a dragon boat contest in Bohol.
I went to Baguio together with some Cebu and Manila based bloggers for the BX3 Tour “Bloggers Baguio Benguet Appreciation Tour” to witness Baguio’s Panagbenga Festival 2013 and to visit the many attractions of the city of Pines.
We stayed at Azalea Residences Baguio, a hotel at the center of Baguio City located at Leonard Wood Road, Baguio City. The hotel is a 5 minutes’ walk from Northern Gate of Teacher’s Village ( it’s just across it), 10-15 minutes drive (including traffic) from session road, SM Baguio and Burnham Park.
Since childhood, I am dreaming of visiting the City of Pines and guess what a dream come true courtesy of LakbayBaguio.com and is sponsored by the number one hotel in the heart of Baguio City, Azalea Residences Baguio. Dont forget to like Azalea Residences facebook page.
