What: Road Revolution 
Where: Osmeña Boulevard – Cebu City

Road Revolution is an environmental activity that prefers an eco-friendly and energy-efficient commuting system by means of indigenous human-powered rail car and bicycles. The event calls the attention of the government to make a policy that discourages car usage through legislation such as the pedestrianization of certain streets and areas of Cebu City. This also calls the improvement of sidewalks to make it safer for children, elderly and pregnant and people with disabilities. We also call that there must be proper lanes for bikes and rail system in some major roads as well as plant umbrella trees.
June 12, 2011 Sunday will be a “Car free day” for the whole street of Osmeña Boulevard – Cebu City. These will allow us Cebuano’s to experience a revitalized street culture. We recommend the City Hall to close the street to vehicular traffic on that said day to allow people to walk, run, and bike and let them enjoy the beauty of a carbon free pollution and traffic jam.
Participants of the event are requested to bring potted plants to simulate street planting used to mark lanes. Participants will be expected to enjoy shopping at the makeshift pedestrian mall and take part in the street party with invited artists, musicians and performers.
Let us join in having the first move to promote a green alternative to public transportation in order to make Cebu a safer place to live for everyone.
