I have been hiking for 5 years now (started in 2017) and like any other trail seeker, I dream of climbing the grandfather and highest mountain in the Philippines but never did I thought that it would be this early in my hiking journey.
Around March this year (2022) when fellow adventure enthusiast and friend Aldrich – The Bisaya Traveler invited my husband and me to join his group to climb Mt. Apo, we immediately said yes. First, because we still have time to prepare and second, I consider it as a new chapter of my hiking journey.
Reaching the top of Mago Peak the group met tatay Sonny, and after exchanging stories we found ourselves following him to his place which he said is only a 30-minute descent from Mago Peak on the Tuburan side. The rest 6-7 hours is an adventure of walking on a steep, winding and muddy mountain under a signal 1 Tropical storm warning – yes it was raining.
It was Holy Week and of course long good 4 days without work. After completing all holy week rituals, what better way to spend the rest of Black Saturday than climb a mountain.
In my previous post I have shared with you how we missed our flight from Cebu to Clark and how we traveled to Clark via Manila through The Victory Liner Bus. What I will be sharing is the travel I have from Clark to Bangkok, Thailand to the border of Aranyaprathet Thailand.
Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok
My travel friends for this trip are of course babe and 2 of his good friends Marvin and Andrew. Marvin is coming from Singapore so he will just meet with us at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.
This is the first of three parts on crossing border in my 26th birthday series.
My annual birthday routine is attend mass, ate lunch or dinner with babe and my family. This year it is different and exciting. I celebrated it outside the country and yes my first out of the country and I am visiting two nations The Kingdom of Cambodia and Kingdom of Thailand. How cool is that. To make it extra special, I am accompanied by the most special person in my life my babe. Let’s cut the chezziness
