The UP MassComm is inviting amateur film makers in Cebu to submit their entry for the 4th UPelikula.
What is UPelikula?
It is a local film festival organized by the UP Cebu Mass Communication Students. The event aims to recognize aspiring and young skillful film makers. The best part is this is open to all enrolled students in the various colleges and univirsities in the Queen City of the South.

What is Moonwalk? Moonwalk is an annual activity that is held every full moon of the month of October that aims to gain breast cancer awareness. It’s advocacy campaign is focused on early screening and detection of breast cancer through monthly breast self-examination and mammography, especially for women aged 20 and beyond.
RAFI’s Cebu population-based Cancer Registry identifies breast cancer as the leading cause of death among Cebuano women having a record of 657 deaths out of 1,349 cases in 2003-2007.

General Luna and Flawless Celebrates International Women’s Day in SM Cebu
Just in time for International Women’s Day, the country’s preferred clinic for face, body and medical services, Flawless, in partnership with SM City Cebu, held a free mini concert that aimed to help spread awareness about gender equality in the Queen City of the South. Frontlined by premiere all-female rock act, General Luna, the event took place at SM City Cebu’s Activity Center.

What is Earth Hour? A worldwide event, organized in 2007 by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to encourage households and businesses to switch off their lights for one hour to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change.
In 2012, WWF launched its “I Will If You Will” campaign, with the intent of engaging its growing global community to go beyond the hour and thru the digital community, inspire people from all corners of the globe to take sustainability actions and share their commitment to the environment.
