Education plays an important role in every individual because education is the key to success to every man’s life. Education is the only thing a parent can give to his children that cannot be taken away by anyone. Sadly, not everyone can acquire good education because reality check quality education comes with a price, but wait let me share to you something important that can change your life.

Did you know that aside from public schools, the government has other programs that can help educate Filipinos and yes, it is CHEAP BUT QUALITY EDUCATION.

Maybe you have heard the word TESDA and it stands for Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. The enactment of Republic Act No. 7796 or the Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994 is the rationale for TESDA. It is a government branch in charge for the management and supervision of technical education and skills development in the Philippines.

What is TESDA’s latest slogan: Sa TESDA May Choice Ka?

TESDA’s slogan means “In TESDA You have a Choice” and indeed this is right because you can chose from the various TESDA programs that best suits you.

TESDA Programs

School Based – This is in accordance with Technical Vocational Education and Training System (TVET) which is American mode of education and education opportunities given outside school premise that caters mostly out-of-school youths or adult illiterates who cannot avail of formal education. Examples are fishery and agriculture.

School based programs

Center Based – Training that is held at TESDA training centers, which are located, nationwide. They have baking, driving, welding and others.

Center based programs

Community Based – These are trainings for enterprise development program given to the poor and marginal groups in the community. The training focused on the creation of livelihood enterprises. Designed to assist LGUs and NGOs. Examples are poultry and hog raising.

Language Skills Institutes – Did you know that most successful interpreters are Filipinos? TESDA provides foreign language course on the following languages Arabic, English, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Nihongo and Spanish.

Competency Standards Development – For middle-level skilled worker. The Training is for competency in work performance.

Assessment and Certification – To determine that skilled worker performs the standard expected in workplace.

As of the moment there are 15 regional training centers and 45 provincial training centers of TESDA and to add on there are 57 TESDA administered schools all over the Philippines.
