A day in Melaka is sufficient to view the beauty of the City but I recommend staying for a night. I read so many good reviews regarding Melaka at night. Due to the rustic feel of the structure plus the beautiful river banks the ambiance when the sun is out is romantic.

Where to Go in Melaka
There are many things to do in Melaka and everything in this city is within walking distance. You will enjoy the mix of European and Asian structures plus of course the heritage houses.
If you love to jog like me and babe, jogging in the morning when most people are still sleeping is the best time to see the City. It is still bare of the noise and hustle and bustle of both locals and tourists.
If walking is not an option, then enjoy riding the colorful trishaws. A tricycle decorated with flowers or cute stuffed toys.
There is also a Melaka river cruise for 45 minutes and prices are for adults – 5.00MYR and kids – 2.50MYR. Melaka boat ride is one thing I want to do when I am back in the beautiful city. My heart falls in those pretty structures near the riverbanks and if you know me I love nice-looking buildings.
But still, nothing compares to walking and greeting both tourists and locals who are enjoying their cup of coffee.
Malacca attractions include but are not limited to the many museums, but we decided to skip most of them. Anyways what matters to us is the heritage structure of Melaka City. We can just look up online details about each Museums. We take pleasure in walking around the heritage city but with the Menara Taming Sari the experience is most extraordinary.
You get to go up the tallest tower in Melaka and have a 360-degree aerial view of Malacca Malaysia.
Never miss Jonker Street popularly known as “Jonker Walk”. Here you can see lines of souvenir shops and food stalls.
Most food stalls offer free taste so try out everything but please support Malacca tourism and buy something. You can munch fresh pastries from the oven and cool yourself with various choices of drinks and ice creams.
Fashion enthusiasts will be thrilled with the numerous boutiques on the street. Home decor and housewares are also available for mommies and daddies.
There are art pieces too and the most famous are limited shirts designed by the famous artist Charles Cham. Visit his gallery called The Orangutan House. Aside from Jonker Street, you can also shop at the various malls in Melaka and Pahlawan Dataran Megamall is a good choice because you can ride a bus here going to Melaka Central where buses are available to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
To get to Melaka Central from Pahlawan Dataran Megamall, you can take either a taxi or a bus in front of the main entrance of the mall. The bus fare is 2MYR from Mall to Melaka Central. There are many bus companies to choose from in Melaka Central to Kuala Lumpur or Singapore and because Melaka is a highly tourist destination place and day tours are often a choice from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore there are many tourists who also want to get the early night bus.
The ideal plan is to ride the 5:00pm bus to reach Kuala Lumpur at 7:00pm and have more time to stroll Kuala Lumpur at night but the ticket available is at 7:00pm so we just enjoy ourselves at the bus station. The bus was an hour delay, we left Melaka 8:00pm and the travel time took 5 hours, longer than we expected due to terrible traffic and we arrived at Kuala Lumpur 1:00am. (Lesson: Not everything will go according to your plan, but the most important thing is still to continue)

Melaka or Malacca
Malacca (Malay: Melaka) is the capital of the state of Malacca, on the west coast of peninsular Malaysia. Visiting Malacca is a unique experience with a rich historical and cultural background from previous Portuguese, Dutch, and British rule. The city center was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in July 2008, along with Georgetown, Penang. – http://wikitravel.org/en/Malacca
