The plot of the movie seems very usual. A man who is a Muslim convert has planted 3 nuclear weapons around different stated in the US. He let himself being captured and was interrogated by a black-op by the character of Harry Humphries (Samuel Jackson.) The man will not talk about the whereabouts of the explosives unless his demands will be given. Though his demands where not that casual unlike other movies.
What is nice about the movie is its much twist. At one point Samuel Jackson maybe said to be the villain because of his interrogation techniques. The government may oppose of what had he done to the terrorist but nobody knows if in reality this is possible. I myself is wondering if the government would employ drastic measure to seek information on a terrorist and have an aggressive, painful and cruel interrogations. Later in the part hatred will replace towards your perception on the terrorist.
This may belong to the small scale film due to its limited location and effects but without doubts big part of the budget was given to the actors. The very few locations maybe boring but the story line keeps the movie interesting. You may hate him (Samuel Jackson), you may pity Steven Arthur Younger the terrorist (Michael Sheen) or adore agent Brody (Carrie-Anne Moss).
As the title says it the movie is surely an unthinkable. It will leave a lasting mark to every person who will watch the movie.
The movies memorable quotes:
H: Youssef! Do you believe I can do this?
Agent Brody: H., he believes it, he believes it!
H: Faith is not enough he has to know it!
Agent Brody: He knows it!
H: Knowing is not enough! He has to see it.
H: ahh.. military intelligence. The great oxymoron.
Agent Brody: If so, what do you think of it?
H: “What I think is Unthinkable”
The movie is rated 7.2 out of 10 by IMDB.com and 63% at rottentomatoes.com. My rating for the movie, 10 as the highest it would be 8.0.
mao ni kato ato gi watch sa 15 na wala ko kahuman ug watch noh?
Yes this is the movie ate. Always pa siya ipa salida sa 15 ate
“Knowing is not enough! He has to see it.” For me this is the best quote in this movie. You also forgot to include this quote:
Agent Brody: If so, what do you think of it?
H: “What I think is Unthinkable”
Hi Damon
I like that quote as well. Thank you for reminding me, I will add that up. 🙂
